Introduction

Dear Reader

Welcome to the first edition of our bimonthly tax update for 2017.

This edition looks at the tax deductibility of the NPPR charge, which, based on a recent high court decision, is now allowable. On the flip side of this we mention Revenues clampdown on rental income and making sure this is being taxed. On a more positive note, we mention the new paternity benefit where new parents are entitled to 2 weeks paternity leave. We also give you a further update on Entrepreneur relief and the increased benefits of that relief. Finally, we discuss the letters that most self-employed people would have received from Revenue recently in relation to the disclosure of foreign assets.

We hope you'll find the update useful and if you have any queries don't hesitate to contact us by email at info@quintas.ie or call 021 4641400.
